News Release

Arrest Made in Officer Involved Shooting

Date of News Release: 03/17/2014

(Pikeville, Ky.) - On Monday, March 17, 2014 James D Sallette, 53, of Pikeville was arrested by Kentucky State Police. Sallette was shot by Troopers on February 26, 2014 in Pike County after he brandished a firearm and pointed it at Troopers. Sallette was charged with 2 counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree-Police Officer, 4 counts of Terroristic Threatening 3rd Degree and 1 count of Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon. The incident remains under investigation by Lieutenant Jennifer Sandlin.
