Accident in Morgan County

Date of News Release: 05/05/2014

(West Liberty, KY) - On Monday, May 5, 2014 at 9:23 am Kentucky State Police Morehead received a call from Morgan County Dispatch of a collision on KY 705 in Morgan County. Bennie Blevins, 60 of Grassy Creek, was operating a 1999 Ford Pickup on KY 705 when an axle broke on his vehicle. The mechanical failure caused the vehicle to veer off the roadway. Mr. Blevins attempted to regain control of the vehicle, causing the vehicle to cross the roadway. The vehicle continued off the roadway striking a residence on Grassy Creek Road. The vehicle struck the side of the residence and came to final rest in a bathroom of the residence. No one was at home at the time of the accident. Mr. Blevins was not injured and was cleared by Morgan County EMS at the scene. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Brandon Burton.
