Injury Collision on I-64 in Montgomery County

Date of News Release: 04/28/2014

(Mt. Sterling, KY) - On April 28,2014 at 1:02 pm Kentucky State Police was notified of a rollover accident on Interstate 64 at the 110 mile marker. Marvin Hart, 55 of Virginia Beach, VA was operating a 2001 Infiniti SUV eastbound when the vehicle veered into the median. Mr. Hart attempted to regain control of the vehicle causing the vehicle to cross both lanes of Interstate 64. The vehicle continued off the eastbound shoulder of the roadway striking an embankment. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn coming to final rest blocking both lanes of Interstate 64. Mr. Hart received minor injuries as a result of the accident and was transported to St. Joseph East in Mt. Sterling, KY. Interstate 64 eastbound lanes were shut down for approximately one hour while emergency crews cleared the scene. Interstate 64 is back open at this time. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Todd Coleman.
