Injury Collision on Turkey Knob Road in Powell County

Date of News Release: 03/16/2014

(Stanton, KY) - On Sunday March 16, 2014 at 8:59 am Kentucky State Police Morehead received a call for service from Powell County Dispatch in reference to a single vehicle accident on KY 15 near the intersection of Turkey Knob Road. Trooper Grant Faulkner, Powell County Fire Department, Powell County EMS and PHI Air Medical responded to the scene. Harold Lewis,31 of Stanton, was operating a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling east on KY 15 when he lost control crossing the west bound lane hitting the guardrail causing the vehicle to overturn and coming to final rest in the west bound lane. Mr. Lewis was treated on scene by Powell County EMS and later airlifted to University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky where he is listed in stable condition. Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the collision. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Grant Faulkner.
