UPDATE: Elliott County Shooting Incident

Date of News Release: 01/05/2014

(Sandy Hook, KY) - On January 5, 2014 Kentucky State Police obtained a warrant for Assault, 1st Degree, Assault 4th Degree, Wanton Endangerment, 1st Degree and Terroristic Threatening 3rd Degree, for Galen Conley of Dehart Road in Elliott County. The arrest comes after an investigation by Kentucky State Police into the shooting that occurred on January 1, 2014. Mr. Conley has been taken into custody will be lodged at the Big Sandy Detention Center in Paintsville, KY.

Elliott County Shooting Incident

Date of News Release: 01/01/2014

(Sandy Hook, KY) - On January 1, 2014 at 1:22 a.m. Kentucky State Police in Morehead was notified of a shots fired complaint on Dehart Road in Elliott County. William Reed, 22 of Sandy Hook, was taken by a friend to Elliott County Ambulance Service after an altercation on Dehart Road. Mr. Reed was attending a New Years Eve party at a residence when he engaged in an altercation with Galen Conley, 58 of Sandy Hook. During the altercation, Mr. Conley shot Mr. Reed in the right shoulder. Mr. Reed was taken to Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia where he was treated and released. The incident remains under investigation by Trooper Brandon Burton.
