KSP Conducts Death Investigation in Lincoln County

(Stanford, KY) - The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is currently conducting a death investigation in Lincoln County, that occurred as a result of injuries received in an alleged physical altercation on Sunday, May 4, 2014. Roger V. Gooch, 59 years old of Stanford, was pronounced deceased on Thursday, May 8, by the Fayette County Coroner at the University of Kentucky Hospital.
The initial investigation alleges that Roger Gooch was assaulted at his residence on Blue Lick Road in Lincoln County by Jerrill Alcorn, 21 years old of Stanford. Alcorn was arrested on Tuesday, May 6, and charged with Assault, 1st Degree and Burglary, 1st Degree. He is currently lodged at the Lincoln County Detention Center.
The ongoing investigation is being performed by KSP Detective Rodney Wren.
