KSP Conducts Death Investigation in Estill County
Date of News Release: 02/12/2014
(Irvine, KY) ľOn February 12, 2014 at 12:16 p.m. EST, the Kentucky State Police received a call that deceased female had been located next to a vehicle on Turkey Pen Road in rural Estill County.
Upon arrival, Vickie H. Arvin, 55 years old of Irvine, was located and pronounced deceased by the Estill County Coroner.
Based on the investigation, it appears that Vickie Arvin died as a result of exposure to the cold weather, after her vehicle slid off the roadway and got stuck on a creek bank. Vickie Arvin then exited her vehicle and subsequently fell into the creek. She was able to exit the creek and return to the passenger side door of her vehicle, where she passed away. Foul play does not appear to be a factor in the investigation.
Detective Jesse Armstrong is the investigating officer. He was assisted on the scene by personnel from the KSP Post in Richmond, Estill County EMS, and the Estill County Coroner.
Anyone with any additional information is encouraged to contact Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post at 859-623-2404 or toll free at 800-222-5555.
