News Release

Spencer County Couple Arrested for Sexual Abuse of a Minor

Date of News Release: 01/27/2014

(Campbellsburg, KY) - A Spencer County couple was arrested by Troopers with Kentucky State Police Post 5 on Friday (1/24) on charges of sexually abusing a juvenile girl. An investigation by Detectives at Post 5 shows that Laura Pike, 38 years old from Fisherville, KY, and her boyfriend Brett Smith, 36 years old from Fisherville, KY, allegedly sexually abused Pike's daughter while living in Henry County. Pike and Smith were charged with Sodomy, Sexual Abuse, and Unlawful Transaction with a Minor. Additionally, Pike was charged with Incest. All of the charges are with a victim under the age of 12. Warrants in Henry County were obtained for both of the perpetrators and were served Friday afternoon at their residence in Spencer County. Pike is currently lodged at the Carroll County Detention Center and Smith is lodged at the Shelby County Detention Center.

Detective Tim Moore is leading the ongoing investigation. Detective Moore was assisted by the Spencer County Sheriff's Department.
