Single-Vehicle Injury Collision on Western Kentucky Parkway

Central City, KY (Muhlenberg County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on Western Kentucky Parkway, 5 miles east of Central City, on Wednesday, August 18, 2014, at 5:47 A.M.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Bobby Duffer, 45, of Hartsville TN, was operating a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound on the Western Kentucky Parkway. Mr. Duffer states that he attempted to avoid an animal that had entered his path of travel and in doing so lost control of his vehicle. Mr. Duffer’s vehicle struck a guardrail before coming to final rest in the eastbound lane of the Western Kentucky Parkway.
Mr. Duffer was transported to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Trooper Jerry Knight investigated the collision. Central City Fire Department and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
