News Release

Foot Pursuit Leads to Felony Arrest

Date of News Release: 07/28/2014

Drakesboro, KY (Muhlenberg County) - On July 27, 2014, Trooper Jon McGehee was on patrol on Frazier Street in the city limits of Drakesboro. Trooper McGehee made contact with Shaun C. Henry, Age 36 of Drakesboro. Trooper McGehee observed Mr. Henry smoking marijuana. After Trooper McGehee approached Mr. Henry, Mr. Henry fled on foot behind a nearby residence. After a brief foot pursuit and altercation, Trooper McGehee apprehended Mr. Henry. Trooper McGehee was treated by Drakesboro Volunteer Fire Department for minor injuries sustained during the altercation. Mr. Henry was transported by Emergency Medical Services to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital Emergency Room where he was treated and released. Mr. Henry was then lodged at the Muhlenberg County Detention Center on the following charges:

  1. Assault 3rd Degree Police Officer
  2. Tampering with Physical Evidence
  3. Possession of Marijuana
  4. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  5. Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd Degree On Foot
  6. Resisting Arrest
  7. Criminal Mischief 1st Degree
  8. Failure to Notify Address Change to Department of Transportation
  9. Public Intoxication

Sergeant Nick Rice, Trooper Jeff McWhorter, and the Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Department assisted at the scene.
