News Release

Two-Vehicle Injury Collision on Pennyrile Parkway

Date of News Release: 07/27/2014

Nortonville, KY (Hopkins County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on the Pennyrile Parkway at the 30 mile marker on Saturday, July 26, 2014, at 5:39 p.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Tammy Stokes, 47 of Nortonville, KY, was operating a Blue Suzuki Swift traveling northbound on the Pennyrile Parkway. Marlon Brown, 35 of Hopkinsville, KY, was operating a silver Honda Accord, also traveling northbound on the Pennyrile Parkway. Mrs. Stokes attempted to merge into the left lane with the intention of making a u-turn at an approaching gravel area. While attempting to merge into the left lane, Mrs. Stokes' vehicle side swiped Mr. Brown's vehicle, causing it to exit the roadway and strike a guardrail. Mr. Brown's juvenile son was transported to Baptist Health for a possible injury sustained in the collision.
