News Release

KSP Investigates Death Resulting from a Fall at Pilot Rock

Date of News Release: 07/22/2014

Elkton, KY (Todd County) - The Kentucky State Police is investigating a death that resulted from a fall at Pilot Rock on Monday, July 21, 2014, at approximately 3:50 p.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Alexander C. Longoria, 22, of Hopkinsville, KY, and a friend, had climbed to the top of Pilot Rock. Mr. Longoria fell, resulting in fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Todd County Coroner.

Trooper Ryan Fox is continuing the investigation. Sergeant Tim Sales, Detective Scott Smith, the Christian County Sheriff's Office, the Todd County Coroner, Christian County Rescue, Todd County Rescue, Allegre Fire Department, Honey Grove Fire Department, Hopkinsville EMS, and the Christian County EMA assisted on the scene.
