News Release

Two Arrested in Hopkins County

Date of News Release: 05/09/2014

St. Charles, KY (Hopkins County) - The Kentucky State Police arrested two Hopkins County residents for drug-related offenses.

On Thursday, May 8th, 2014, at approximately 10:35 p.m., KSP Troopers Jonathan Murphy, Joseph Bartolotti and Cody Kromer were assisting the Hopkins County Sheriffs Department on serving two subjects on outstanding warrants. Upon entering the residence, Troopers were granted consent to search. Their investigation led to the discovery of multiple drugs, drug paraphernalia and a large amount of cash.

Trooper Murphy charged the following individuals:

Steven E. Gary, 39, of Dawson Springs, KY

  1. Hindering Prosection or Apprehension
  2. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  3. Trafficking Synthetic Drug 1st Offense
  4. Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (>2 grams) Methamphetamine

Jonathan R. Ruby, 34, of White Plains, KY

  1. Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (>2 grams) Methamphetamine

The Hopkins County Sheriffs Department charged the subjects for their outstanding warrants.

Both individuals were lodged in the Hopkins County Jail. Trooper Murphy is continuing the investigation.
