News Release

Collision with Injuries in Muhlenberg County

Date of News Release: 04/25/2014

Cleaton, KY. (Muhlenberg County) – The Kentucky State Police investigated a collision involving a train.

On Friday April 24, 2014, at 00:54 A.M., Trooper Jon McGehee investigated a vehicle collision involving a train. Paige N Wells, 18 of Central City, was traveling west bound on Main Street in Cleaton. A CSX train was traveling north on the railroad crossing on Main Street. Mrs. Wells failed to yield right of way to the train and struck the side of the engine. Mrs. Wells's vehicle then traveled off the north side of the roadway, and the east side of the railroad tracks. Mrs. Well's vehicle came to final rest facing north in a ditch. Mrs. Wells was transported by Muhlenberg Community EMS to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital were she was treated for minor injuries. Mrs. Wells was the only occupant in her vehicle, which was towed from the scene.
