Single-Vehicle Non-Injury Collision On The Pennyrile Parkway

Date of News Release: 04/01/2014

Sebree, KY (Webster County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle, non-injury collision that occurred on the Pennyrile Parkway, between the 62 and 63 mile-marker, on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at 7:15 a.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Melvin Hill, 40, of Memphis, TN, was operating a 2007 Freightliner tractor-trailer northbound on the Pennyrile Parkway. The tractor-trailer was hauling carbon pellets.

As Mr. Hill was traveling in the left lane, the trailer tires dropped off the left side of the roadway. Mr. Hill overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle exited off the right side of the roadway and overturned. It came to rest on its passenger side.

Mr. Hill was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured. There were no passengers involved.

KSP CVE Officer Timothy Blankenship investigated the collision.
