News Release

Two-Vehicle Injury Collision on Old Nortonville White Plains Road

Date of News Release: 03/29/2014

Nortonville, KY (Hopkins County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on Old Nortonville White Plains Road, between Nortonville and White Plains, on Friday, March 28, 2014, at 4:51 p.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Jimmie Bryant, 61, Bremen, KY, was operating a 1995 Toyota Truck westbound on Old Nortonville White Plains Road. Crystal D. Stevenson, 30, of Dawson Springs, KY, was operating a 1998 Ford Mustang eastbound on Old Nortonville White Plains Road when she crossed the center line. Mr. Bryant was unable to avoid a collision and Ms. Stevenson struck him head on.

Mr. Bryant and his two passengers, Mitchell McCauley, 54, of Graham, KY, and Martin Cobb, 45, of Greenville, KY, and Ms. Stevenson were all transported via ambulance to Baptist Health Madisonville for treatment.

Ms. Stevenson was charged with DUI 2nd (Aggravating Circumstances) and was cited to court due to her injuries.

Trooper Jonathan Murphy investigated the collision. Sergeant Daniel White, the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office, White Plains Fire Department, and Med Center EMS assisted at the scene.
