Single-Vehicle Injury Collision on KY 70

Madisonville, KY (Hopkins County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on KY 70, approximately two miles west of Madisonville, on Thursday, February 21, 2014, at 10:30 a.m.
Twenty-four year old Stephanie Wells of Nebo, KY was operating a 2001 Pontiac Aztec eastbound on KY 70, in Hopkins County. Ms. Wells lost control of her vehicle and exited the eastbound shoulder of the roadway. The impact caused Ms. Well's vehicle to overturn onto its top where it came to final rest in a ditch off the eastbound shoulder of the roadway facing east. Ms. Wells was then transported by a family member in a privately owned vehicle to Baptist Regional Medical Center for injuries sustained as a result of the collision. There were no passengers involved. Ms. Wells was wearing a seatbelt.
Trooper Ben Sawyer investigated the collision. The Richmond Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
