Single-Vehicle Injury Collision on I-24

Oak Grove, KY (Christian County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on Interstate 24, at approximately the 92 mile-marker, on Thursday, February 20, 2014, at 7:39 a.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Kelsie Dixon, 25, of Cadiz, KY, was operating a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix eastbound on Interstate 24. Ms. Dixon was traveling in the left (passing) lane. As she attempted to change lanes, she noticed another vehicle in the right (travel) lane. Ms. Dixon overcorrected and lost control of her vehicle. The vehicle struck a guardrail off the right shoulder of the roadway. It crossed both eastbound lanes of travel and exited the roadway. The vehicle traveled into the median where it came to rest.
Ms. Dixon was transported via ambulance to Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville, TN for treatment. She was wearing a seatbelt. There were no passengers involved.
Trooper Michael Dennis investigated the collision. Oak Grove Fire & Rescue and Oak Grove EMS assisted at the scene.
