Single-Vehicle Collision with Road Blockage
Date of News Release: 02/06/2014
Bremen, KY (Muhlenberg County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of KY 2584 and KY 181, approximately three miles south of Bremen, on Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at 3:35 p.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Dennia Johnson, 49, of Houston, MS, was operating a 2004 Mack tractor-trailer westbound on KY 2584. The tractor-trailer was hauling chickens. As Ms. Johnson was attempting to make a left turn from KY 2584 onto KY 181 to travel south, the rear tires of the trailer dropped off the left shoulder of the roadway which caused the tractor-trailer to overturn. The overturned vehicle blocked both lanes of KY 181.
Ms. Johnson was not injured. She was wearing a seatbelt. There were no passengers involved.
Trooper Craig Engler investigated the collision. Trooper Jonathan Ward, the Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Department, the Bremen Volunteer Fire Department, and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet assisted at the scene.
