Date of News Release: 01/27/2014

Fredonia, KY (Caldwell County) - The Kentucky State Police has charged two individuals in connection to a bank robbery that occurred earlier today (01/27/2014).

On Monday, January 27, 2014, at approximately 11:51 a.m., a lone suspect brandishing a handgun entered the Fredonia Valley Bank located at 602 Cassidy Avenue. The suspect demanded money from the tellers. The tellers complied with his demands. The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money in a white, Chevrolet S10 pickup truck.

Troopers and detectives from the KSP Post 2 Madisonville and the Caldwell County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene. A description of the suspect vehicle was broadcast to all units.

At approximately 1:45 p.m., Trooper First Class John Komar located the suspect vehicle on Nichols Road. TFC Komar exited his cruiser and ordered the occupants of the vehicle to stop. The suspect vehicle accelerated and attempted to strike TFC Komar. TFC Komar fired one round from his service weapon at the approaching vehicle, but did not strike either suspect.

The suspect vehicle continued to flee and turned onto Needmore Road. It turned onto a gravel/dirt road and traveled into a field where the Caldwell County Sheriff, Stan Hudson, used legal intervention and struck the suspect vehicle with his cruiser. The two individuals in the suspect vehicle were taken into custody without further incident.

KSP Detective Matt Foster has charged the following individuals:

  1. Codie L. Lady, 23, of Marion, KY
    Robbery 1st Degree (B Felony)
    Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree - 4 counts (D Felony)
  2. Lacie K. Bielecki, 29, of Princeton, KY
