News Release

Mt. Sterling Man Arrested for Theft

Marion, KY (Crittenden County) - The Kentucky State Police has charged a Mount Sterling man with theft.

On Wednesday, January 22, 2014, Trooper First Class Darron Holliman was assisting the Marion Police Department on a complaint of a stolen iPhone at the Crittenden County High School. While there, a staff member advised TFC. Holliman of another iPhone that had been stolen from a female's purse while she was shopping at Conrad's Grocery Store in Marion on Saturday, January 18.

TFC. Holliman was able to view the store's video surveillance and obtained a description of the suspect, later identified as Bascom Kline. TFC. Holliman located Mr. Kline walking along South College Street in Marion.

On Wednesday, January 22, at approximately 4:35 p.m., TFC. Holliman arrested Bascom K. Kline, 20 of Mt. Sterling, KY. Mr. Kline was charged with one count of TBUT (Theft by Unlawful Taking) $500 or more, a class D felony. He was lodged in the Crittenden County Jail.

The Marion Police Department assisted with the investigation.
