Indiana Man Arrested on Theft by Deception Charges

(HICKORY, KY.) - On January 15th, 2014, the Kentucky State Police received a theft-related complaint from the ACE Compressor Parts and Service in Graves County. The investigation revealed that Fred Davis (27) of Greenwood, Indiana, operating a company doing business as Georgia Metals & Machinery, allegedly received $20,000 in exchange for the purchase of air compressors; however, when Davis received the money he failed to deliver the product to the vendor victim as agreed upon.
A search warrant was obtained through Graves District Court for the bank records of Davis, which revealed that the offender in fact received the $20,000, and withdrew the same amount of money from the account in question without delivering the air compressors to the Graves County victim.
On March 21st , 2014, the accused offender, Fred Davis, was arrested on Kentucky warrant for Theft by Deception-Over $10,000, in Montgomery County, Tennessee. On March 26th , 2014, the Graves County Sheriff's Department extradited Davis back to Kentucky where he remains in the Graves County Jail. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Anthony Harrison.
