Morganfield Man Charged with Two Felonies

Date of News Release: 02/24/2014

Henderson, KY - On Saturday, February 22, 2014, Kentucky State Police charged 40 year-old Bennie K. Rust Jr. of Morganfield, KY with DUI 1st, Careless Driving, Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine) and Tampering with Physical Evidence.

Trooper Lincoln Lawless conducted a traffic stop on Rust Jr. on US 60 near A.B. Chandler Road in Henderson County. It was determined through the investigation that Rust Jr. was operating his motor vehicle while impaired. Rust Jr. was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle under the Influence of Alc/Drugs/Etc. and was arrested. Upon arrival at Henderson County Detention Center, Rust attempted to hide a small bag of suspected crystal methamphetamine in the patrol vehicle of the investigating trooper. Rust Jr. was charged with two Class D Felonies.
