News Release

Metcalfe County Fatal Collision

Date of News Release: 01/12/2014

(EDMONTON, KY) - Tpr. Logan Richardson is investigating a collision that occurred today at 9:30 AM CST at the crossroads intersection of KY 90 and 163. 45-year-old Tammy Colee, of Indianapolis, IN was operating a 2004 Buick, traveling north on KY 163. Ms. Colee failed to stop at the intersection of KY 90 and struck a westbound, 2006 flatbed semi-truck, operated by 35-year-old Jeremy Groce of Burkesville, KY. in the side. The Buick then struck a 2012 Jeep operated by 38-year-old Susan Mathews of Glasgow, KY. Ms. Mathews was waiting to make a left turn onto KY 163 from KY 90.

Ms. Colee was belted and was flown from the scene to Vanderbilt Hospital. A passenger, 19-year-old Colleen Colee, of Indianapolis, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Metcalfe County Coroner Larry Wilson. A passenger, 1-year-old Kaden Adams, of Indianapolis, was in a child restraint device and was transported to T.J. Sampson Hospital.

Jeremy Groce was belted and refused treatment while Susan Mathews, belted, was transported by a private vehicle to the hospital. The collision remains under investigation. Tpr. Richardson was assisted at the scene by Metcalfe County Fire, EMS and Rescue.
