Perry County Pipeline Theft Arrests

Date of News Release: 03/01/2014

Hazard, KY - Four suspects have been arrested in connection with the theft of approximately 400 feet of EQT Corporation natural gas pipeline from the Bulan community of Perry County. On Saturday March 1st an EQT Corporation security officer located the suspects allegedly in the process of cutting the pipeline a second time after first stealing pipeline from the area on February 26th. The stolen pipeline which has a value of approximately $10,000.00 is believed to have been sold at several area recycling Centers. The suspects who are listed below have all been lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Jail in Hazard, KY and are each charged with one count of Theft by Unlawful Taking & one count of Criminal Mischief in the 1st Degree.

Trooper Isaac Whitaker is in charge of the investigation which is ongoing, the case will be presented to the Perry County Grand Jury.
