Knott County Convenient Store Robbed

(Fisty, KY) - On Monday evening, February 17, 2014, at approximately 11:47p.m., Kentucky State Police Post 13 in Hazard received a call advising that The Cardinal Country Store, in the Fisty area of Knott County, had been robbed. KSP troopers, along with deputies with the Knott County Sheriff's Department, responded to the scene.
Officers were advised by employees that a male subject entered the store wearing a gray ski mask, black hoodie, and jeans, and appeared to be in possession of a firearm. The subject demanded cigarettes, as well as cash from the register, from the employees, who complied with the perpetrator's demands. The robber fled the store with an undetermined amount of cash and three cartons of cigarettes. He was observed getting into an unknown make or model four-door passenger car, which was last seen traveling eastbound on KY Highway 80.
Officers conducted a search of the area near the store, but were unable to locate the perpetrator. Store surveillance footage of this robbery was obtained, but the suspect has yet to be identified. This incident remains under investigation by KSP Post 13.
