Perry County Deputy Jailer Arrested For Official Misconduct

(Hazard, KY) - On Friday, January 17, 2014, Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement/Special Investigations Branch, assisted by troopers with KSP Post 13 in Hazard, arrested Deputy Jailer Bruce Campbell, 27, of Hazard, on a charge related to the introduction of contraband material into the Kentucky River Regional Jail, in Hazard.
The investigation stemmed from a complaint from jail officials that an employee was suspected of being involved in bringing contraband into the detention center. The initial investigation resulted in the execution of an arrest warrant at Campbell's residence in Perry County.
Bruce Campbell was charged with one count of Official Misconduct 1st Degree, and was lodged in the Leslie County Detention Center. Further charges and arrests are likely, pending further investigation by KSP detectives.
