CVE Pursues Stolen Lexington Metro Police Cruiser

(Frankfort, KY) - During the early morning hours of May 09, 2014, Kentucky State Police was notified by Lexington Metro Police Department to be on the lookout for a stolen LMPD cruiser. Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officers responded to the complaint, and located the vehicle driving eastbound on I64, Shelby County, around the 31mm. The Officers initiated emergency equipment in an attempt to stop the vehicle, which refused to stop. A pursuit continued for approximately 20 miles, lasting more than 20 minutes.
Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officers deployed a tire deflation device near the I64 53mm eastbound, ultimately rendering the vehicle inoperable. Three juveniles were placed into custody without incident.
