Shooting Investigation in Rockcastle County
Date of News Release: 04/21/2014
(LONDON, KY.) - On Monday, April 21, 2014 at approximately 7:30 AM, Kentucky State Police Post 11, London was notified by the Rockcastle County 911 Center of a shooting that had occurred on Red Hill RD in Rockcastle County.
Upon arrival KSP Detective Justin Oliver determined that Rhonda P. Baker, 43, of Livingston had been shot by her estranged husband Roger J. Baker, 46, of Livingston during an altercation.
Roger Baker was located a short distance away from the scene deceased from an apparent self- inflicted gunshot wound and was prounced dead at the scene by the Rockcastle County Coroner.
Rhonda Baker was transported from the scene to the Rockcastle County Hospital and later flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center where she is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Detective Justin Oliver is in charge of the investigation and was assisted at the scene by KSP LT John Yates, Detective Ryan Loudermilk, Rockcastle County Sheriff's Office and the Rockcastle County EMS.
