Drug Arrest and Investigation in Laurel County

(LONDON, KY.) - On Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at approximately 10:30 AM the Kentucky State Police Post 11 Criminal Interdiction Team stopped a red Toyota Camry for a minor traffic violation on Interstate 75 in Laurel County.
During roadside questioning Detective Ryan Loudermilk determined that the driver Nathan E. Valerius, 34, of Independence, KY to be extremely nervous and evasive. A canine (K-9) was used and a search of the vehicle yielded approximately three (3) ounces of processed marijuana and $3,945.00 in US currency.
Valerius was arrested at the scene and charged with Trafficking in Marijuana, Less than three (3) ounces and three (3) counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.
Detective Loudermilk is in charge of the investigation and was assisted at the scene by Trooper Michelle Lunsford, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer Duffy Sutton and the London City Police Department.
