UPDATE: Robbery Investigation in Rockcastle County

Date of News Release: 01/19/2014

(London, KY) - Due to an additional Robbery that occurred in Mount Vernon on Saturday January 18, 2014 the following day of the Robbery at the Citizens Bank in Brodhead, a suspect was identified. This led to Detective Oliver obtaining a search warrant and making an arrest in the investigation.

Arrested was:

Lee H. Speaks, 28, of Mount Vernon, charged with Robbery 1st Degree and lodged in the Rockcastle County Detention Center.

Detective Oliver is continuing the investigation and was assisted in making the arrest by KSP Sergeant Steve Smallwood, Sergeant Lafe Owens, Trooper Adam Childress, Trooper Jason McCowan, Trooper Eric Moore, Trooper Ben Graves, the Rockcastle County Sheriff’s Office and the Mount Vernon Police Department.

Robbery Investigation in Rockcastle County

Date of News Release: 01/17/2014

(LONDON, KY.) - On Friday January 17, 2014 at approximately 5:41 PM the Kentucky State Police Post 11, London received a report of a Robbery at the "Citizens Bank" in Brodhead, KY in Rockcastle County.

Upon arrival KSP Detective Justin Oliver determined that a white male subject entered the bank and approached the teller armed with a firearm and demanded money. The teller complied and the male subject fled the bank on foot with ( an undisclosed amount of ) cash.

The male subject was described as wearing: a black toboggan with an orange in color hoodie with brown in color coveralls.

Detective Justin Oliver is in charge of the investigation and was assisted at the scene by Troopers from Post 11 and the Rockcastle County Sheriff's Office.
