News Release

$45,000.00 of Stolen Property Recovered in Bell County

Date of News Release: 02/02/2014

(Arjay, Ky.) - On February 2, 2014 at 12:11 p.m. Trooper Chad Gregory was contacted by Knox County Sheriff's Department for assistance on a burglary case. Chief Deputy Derek Eubanks stated that he had information on some possible stolen property in Bell County. Tpr. Gregory responded to Weiser Branch Road in Bell County to attempt to locate the residence where the stolen property was at. Once Tpr. Gregory made contact with the owner of the residence, (Justin Collett) consent to search of the residence was given by Mr. Collett.

Tpr. Gregory located three Polaris Razors, one Honda Generator, and one Yamaha four-wheeler all stolen from five different victims in Knox County. The value of the stolen property that was recovered was over $45,000.00.

Justin Collett, 26, from Arjay was arrested and lodged in the Bell County Detention Center. Mr. Collett was charged with three counts of Receiving Stolen Property over $10,000.00 and one count of Receiving Stolen Property under $10,000.00.

Trooper Gregory was assisted at the scene by other troopers from Post 10 Harlan and the Knox County Sheriff's Department. Case is still under investigation by Tpr. Chad Gregory.
