News Release

One Killed in a Motorcycle Collision on US 119 in Pike County

Date of News Release: 07/22/2013

(Pikeville, Ky) -- On Sunday July 21, 2013, at 2:22 a.m. Post 9 Pikeville received a call of a motorcycle accident on US 119 northbound in the Zebulon area of Pike County. 43 year old Silas Muncy was operating a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle when he exited the highway onto the right shoulder, struck the guardrail and was ejected from the motorcycle. Trooper Steven Mounts, Trooper Heath Ayres, and Trooper Joshua Cox responded along with Transtar Ambulance Service and Johns Creek Fire Department. Muncy was pronounced deceased at the scene by Pike County Coroner Russell Roberts. The accident is still under investigation by Trooper Steven Mounts.
