News Release

Kentucky State Police Investigates Injury Collision on KY 421/Battlefield Memorial Highway

Date of News Release: 10/18/2013

(Berea, KY) -- On Friday, October 18, 2013, at 10:00 am EDT the Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post responded to an injury collision on KY 421/Battlefield Memorial Highway in southeastern Madison County. Preliminary investigation indicated that a 2006 Hyundai Sonata was traveling North when it left the road, overturned, and struck a utility pole and fence before coming to rest in a field.

Chassidy Turpin, 18 years old of Richmond, was transported to the University of Kentucky Chandler hospital for treatment. Two children, seven months old and two years old, were transported to UK for observation.

Trooper Ken Bradley is investigating the crash and was assisted at the scene by other KSP personnel, the Madison County Sheriffs Department, Madison County EMS and the Kingston Fire Department.
