Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post Investigates Officer Involved Collision in Madison County

(Berea, KY.) -- On Friday, April 12, 2013, at 2:40 p.m. (EDT), the Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post, was notified of a two vehicle collision on the Berea By-Pass at KY 1983/Menelaus Road involving a Kentucky State Police Division of Vehicle Enforcement Officer.
Initial investigation revealed that a 2012 Chevrolet Caprice operated by Officer Aaron Stidham, 36 years old of Berea, was traveling east on the Berea By-Pass. A 2002 Buick LeSabre operated by Kevin Maynard, 40 years old of Berea, traveling south on KY 1983 struck the Chevrolet in the drivers side door.
Officer Stidham was not responding to any calls for service at the time of the collision.
Both occupants refused medical treatment at the scene.
Lieutenant Jamie Heller is the investigating officer and was assisted at the scene by other KSP personnel, the Berea Police Department, Madison County EMS and the Berea Fire Department.
