KSP Makes Arrest On Two Bank Robberies

Date of News Release: 10/21/2013

(ELIZABETHTOWN, KY.) On Friday, October 18, 2013, Kentucky State Police Post 4 Detectives made an arrest in two bank robberies that occurred in early 2013. The Cecilian Bank in Sonora, Ky. was robbed on Jan 15, 2013, and the Bank of Buffalo in Buffalo, Ky. was robbed on Feb 27, 2013. Joshua Spangler (27) of Cambellsville, Ky. has been charged with two counts of Robbery 2nd degree and has been lodged in the Hardin Co. Det. Ctr. Both investigations are still ongoing and are being handled by KSP Detectives Jon Vaughn and Chad Taylor. KSP was assisted during the investigation by the Campbellsville and Elizabethtown Police Depts.

Bank of Buffalo And Sonora Bank Robberies May Be Same Suspect

Date of News Release: 02/27/2013

(BUFFALO, KY) -- Post 4 Detectives believe that both photos are the same person. He is approximately 5'10" tall with a medium build. He is believed to have been driving a black 1990's style Chevrolet S-10. The truck had lightly tinted windows with a blue sticker on the left side of the back window. It had a chrome grill with the gold Chevrolet bow tie emblem on it. The suspect may have been in the area the day before the robbery casing the bank. A witness stated that the suspect had dirty blonde hair and facial hair. Anyone with information may contact the Kentucky State Police at (270) 766-5078 or (800) 222-5555. Callers may remain anonymous. Information leading to the arrest and indictment of the suspect may be eligible for a monetary reward.

Bank Of Buffalo In Larue County Robbed

Date of News Release: 02/27/2013

(BUFFALO, KY) -- On Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at approximately 11:45 a.m. ET Post 4 received a report of a bank robbery at the Bank of Buffalo on Greensburg Road in Larue County. The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall about 30 years of age. He was last seen wearing a dark colored hoodie, blue jeans and work gloves. The suspect entered the bank and presented the teller with a note stating he was armed and demanded money. He was in the bank for only a few seconds before exiting and fleeing on foot in an unknown direction of travel with an undisclosed amount of cash. Det. Chad Taylor is leading the ongoing investigation.

*KSP Post 4 is working on releasing a surveillance photograph of the suspect and may be released next date. Anyone with information on this crime is encouraged to contact the Kentucky State Police Post 4 at (270) 766-5078 or 1 (800) 222-5555.
