News Release

Man Killed During Altercation With Police

Date of News Release: 10/13/2013

(HODGENVILLE, KY.) -- On Sunday, October 13, 2013 at approximately 2:05 A.M. EST, Kentucky State Police Post 04 received a call from the Larue County Dispatch in regards to an officer involved shooting at an apartment located at 631 S.Lincoln Blvd. in Hodgenville. Two Hodgenville Police Officers attempted to serve arrest warrants on a man at that address. After making contact with the subject of the warrants an altercation ensued. One Officer attempted to deploy his Taser during the struggle but it was ineffective. The subject then grabbed a rifle and was subsequently shot multiple times. He was immediately taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced deceased by the Hardin County Coroner's Office. KSP Sgt. Jeff Jenkins is handling the ongoing Death Investigation. Neither Hodgenville Officer was injured. KSP was assisted by the Larue County EMS and the Hardin County Coroner's Office. The names of the individuals involved have been withheld pending notification of family members.
