Update: Female Body Found Alongside Interstate 65 In Hardin County

Date of News Release: 05/29/2013

(ELIZABETHTOWN, KY) -- The cause of death on the female body found alongside I-65 on 05/29/2013 has been determined to be multiple blunt force trauma injuries to the head. However, age, race, and nationality have yet to be determined. Toxicology and other test results are pending. Further details will be released once they are available. Det. Mike May is conducting the ongoing the investigation.

Below is the description of the female body found alongside I-65 yesterday in Hardin County

Sex: Female
Race: Undetermined due to decomposition
Age: Adult, estimated to be between 25-30 within a range of 20-40
Height: 62 to 65 inches (5ft 2 1/2 inches to 5ft 5 inches)
Weight: 145
Hair: Shoulder length, dark brown wavy hair with a few red streaks or highlights

Other features: short well kept fingernails with remnants of red polish, toenails polished with silver glitter polish.

Jewelry: Ring on right middle finger: gold metal ring with central solid turquoise-colored oval stone surrounded by clear stones (perhaps diamonds) set in ornate gold filigree. Gold-colored earring with complex design resembling a bee or other insect, with pink-colored stones in the upper sides and a single clear stone at the bottom.

Clothing: Pink colored sweat pants with white striped trim around waist and down the outside of each leg. Long-sleeved hooded top with a complex checked pattern of navy, red and light gray in large squares. The pattern mimics an old-fashioned crude patchwork quilt with large stitches.

Marks: No tattoos or scars were noted

Female Body Found Alongside Interstate 65 In Hardin County

Date of News Release: 05/29/2013

(ELIZABETHTOWN, KY) -- On Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at approximately 9:30 a.m. ET Post 4 Dispatchers fielded a call from a mowing company stating that they had discovered a body alongside Interstate 65 near the 99 mile marker on the northbound side. KSP Investigators can confirm that the body is that of a female, but no further details are known at this time. The State Highway Department has assisted by closing the right lane of the Interstate from the 98 to just passed the 99 1/2 so that our Detectives can process the scene. The lane is expected to be closed for several hours. The Hardin County Coroner is also on the scene and once the on-scene investigation is completed the body will be sent to the Medical Examiner's Office in Louisville for examination. The investigation is ongoing.
