Date of News Release: 03/03/2013

(GLENDALE, KY) -- Approximately 16 minutes after a multi-fatality crash on the northbound side of I-65 in Hardin County yesterday, another crash occurred on the southbound side sending one man to University of Louisville Hospital with critical injuries. Gregory Lohman, 36, from Goodlettsville, TN was southbound on I-65 and was slowing for the wreck on the northbound side when a 2013 Freightliner failed to see slowed traffic and struck the Lohman vehicle in the rear. It was operated by 58-year-old Mark Bowser from Lewisburg, OH. Lohmanís vehicle then struck a 2005 Saturn SUV driven by 53-year-old Victor Martinka of Glenview, IL, in the rear. The Martinka vehicle then struck a 2012 Chevrolet SUV in the rear. It was driven by Stephanie Yates, 55, of Louisville, KY. All vehicles involved were southbound on I-65. Lohman suffered critical injuries in the crash and was airlifted to U of L Hospital with head and neck injuries. As of this morning he was listed in critical but stable condition. Both occupants in the Saturn, Victor and Lilija Martinka, 51, were transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital where they were treated and released. Bowser nor Yates were injured in the crash.

Tpr. Brad Riley is conducting the ongoing investigation.
