Post 4 Detectives Arrest Louisville Man For Child Pornography

(BARDSTOWN, KY)-- A Jefferson County man was arrested on charges related to child pornography Friday after Kentucky State Police served a search warrant at his home.
Dennis Ray Benningfield, 48, of Louisville, is charged with 1 count of Distribution of Matter Portraying the Sexual Performace by a Minor and 7 counts of Possession of Matter Portraying the Sexual Performace by a Minor. He was lodged at Louisville Metro Corrections.
Benningfield was arrested by the Kentucky State Police as a result of an undercover online investigation into the possession and distribution of images of child sexual exploitation. The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Mr. Benningfield’s residence in Louisville, KY on December 28, 2012, by Kentucky State Police Post 4 units. Equipment used to distribute child pornography were seized and taken to the Kentucky State Police forensic laboratory for examination. Additional charges are pending.
Kentucky State Police Post 4 and the KSP Electronic Crime Branch are members of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The investigation is ongoing by Det. John Vaughn.
