News Release

ATV Collision Leads to Arrest

Date of News Release: 06/10/2013

(Bowling Green, KY) -- On Friday, June 7, 2013, Kentucky State Police Post 3 responded to the intersection of Angus Road and Rube Smith Road in Hart County in reference to an ATV collision.

According to Trooper First Class Joel Huff, Leslie Horton (33) of Horse Cave was traveling east on Angus Road on an Artic Cat ATV when he failed to stop at the intersection at Rube Smith Road. Horton crossed over Rube Smith Road and traveled down a steep embankment, through a fence, and into a field. The investigation of the collision revealed that Mr. Horton was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision and was a contributing factor.

Mr. Horton was arrested and charged with Operating A Motor Vehicle Under The Influence Of Alcohol/Drugs/ETC.08(Aggrivating Circumstances) 2nd Offense, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, Operating ATV On Roadway, and Operating ATV W/O Headgear 16 or > Public Property.

Mr. Horton was lodged in the Hart County Jail. TFC. Huff was assisted on the scene by R&B Towing.
