News Release

Death Investigation in Allen County

Date of News Release: 06/06/2013

(Bowling Green, KY) -- On Thursday, June 6, 2013, at approximately 7:57 A.M. Scottsville Police Department was contacted regarding a residential fire located at 34 Red Horse Avenue. Firefighters from Cedar Springs #1 and # 2 along with members with Scottsville Fire Departments responded.

Neighbors reported seeing smoke coming from the residence and believed that there was one occupant inside of the residence. The fire claimed the life of a female later identified as Beverly G. Morningstar (61).

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental in nature and no foul play is suspected at this time. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday morning in Louisville, KY. The investigation is still ongoing and is being led by Kentucky State Police Arson Investigator Terry Scott.
