Locking Your Vehicle and Securing Belongings Can Prevent Thefts

Date of News Release: 01/04/2013

(Bowling Green, KY) -- Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green are asking citizens in the Post 3 Area for their assistance in stopping an emerging trend. Over the past couple of months Kentucky State Police Troopers are working a growing number of Automobile break ins that are occurring in the Post 3 Area.

Although it may seem like common sense, locking your automobiles up at night and securing your valuables in the trunk of the vehicle will greatly reduce automobile break ins.

"People seem to have in their mindset that their vehicle is free from being broken into since it is in my driveway, and that is the one place that these crimes are being committed," commented Trooper Jonathan Biven, Public Affair´s Officer.
