Two-Vehicle Injury Collision at Old Railroad Lane & US 79

Guthrie, KY (Todd County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on Old Railroad Lane, at the intersection of US 79, on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at 3:00 p.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Jerry Glenn, 54 of Guthrie, KY, was operating a Dodge Ram southbound on Old Railroad Lane. Billy Stokes, 46 of Elkton, KY, was operating a GMC Sierra southbound on Old Railroad Lane traveling behind Mr. Glenn. Both vehicles were approaching US 79.
While coming to a stop at the intersection, Mr. Stokes’ vehicle rear-ended Mr. Glenn’s vehicle. The passenger in Mr. Stokes’ vehicle, Joseph Springer, 47 of Elkton, KY, was transported via ambulance to the Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment. Mr. Stokes was not injured. Mr. Glenn and his two passengers, Jerry Brown, 4, and Skylar Wagner, 6, both of Guthrie, KY, were not injured. All operators and passengers were using restraints.
Tpr. Jeff Ayres investigated the collision. The Guthrie Fire Department and Logan County EMS assisted at the scene.
