Single-Vehicle Injury Collision on Western Kentucky Parkway

Central City, KY (Muhlenberg County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on the Western Kentucky Parkway, at approximately the 54 mile-marker, on Friday, October 25, 2013, at 2:50 p.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Levi J. Travis, 18 of Paducah, KY, was operating a 2005 Toyota Camry westbound on the Western Kentucky Parkway when it appears that he fell asleep. The vehicle crossed the median and overturned. It traveled across both eastbound lanes of travel and struck a guardrail. The vehicle came to rest upright against the guardrail.
Mr. Travis was transported via ambulance to Baptist Health Madisonville for treatment. He was wearing a seatbelt. There were no passengers involved.
Tpr. Jerry Knight investigated the collision. The Central City Fire Department and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
