Two-Vehicle Injury Collision on US 431

Drakesboro, KY (Muhlenberg County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on US 431, in the limits of Drakesboro, on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at 2:25 p.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Jeremy Lindsey, 30 of Sacramento, KY, was operating a 1993 Toyota Corolla northbound on US 431. David Wade, 56 of Crofton, KY, was operating a 2011 Ford Ranger southbound on US 431. A vehicle traveling northbound in front of Mr. Lindsey was stopped in traffic, waiting to turn left from US 431 onto Cornette Street.
Mr. Lindsey was unable to stop and swerved into the southbound lane where his vehicle struck Mr. Wade's vehicle head-on. Mr. Wade's vehicle exited the southbound side of the roadway and came to rest in a ditch. Mr. Lindsey's vehicle spun out of control and exited off the northbound side of the roadway. It came to rest in a ditch.
Mr. Wade was transported via ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. Mr. Lindsey was transported by a privately owned vehicle to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. Both operators were wearing seatbelts. There were no passengers involved.
Tpr. Craig Engler investigated the collision. The Drakesboro Volunteer Fire Department and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
