News Release

Single-Vehicle Injury Collision on the Pennyrile Parkway

Date of News Release: 09/11/2013

Hopkinsville, KY (Christian County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on the Pennyrile Parkway, at the 5 mile marker, on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at 3:25 p.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Olga Zamora, 26 of Hopkinsville, KY, was operating a 2006 Honda Civic northbound on the Pennyrile Parkway. Ms. Zamora's vehicle began to hydroplane. The vehicle exited the roadway and struck a light pole causing it to overturn.

Ms. Zamora was transported via ambulance to Jennie Stuart Hospital for treatment. She was wearing a seatbelt and there were no passengers in the vehicle.

Tpr. Michael Dennis investigated the collision. The Hopkinsville Fire Department and Hopkinsville EMS assisted at the scene.
