News Release

Two-Vehicle Injury Collision on KY 181

Date of News Release: 08/27/2013

Clifty, KY (Todd County) -- The Kentucky State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on KY 181, in the limits of Clifty, on Monday, August 26, 2013, at 2:10 p.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Timmy Wells, 37 of Elkton, KY, was operating a 2001 GMC Sierra pickup truck southbound on KY 181. Raymond Clark, 48 of Greenville, KY, was operating a 1997 Lincoln Towncar northbound on KY 181. It appears that Mr. Wells fell asleep. His vehicle crossed the centerline and struck Mr. Clark's vehicle head-on.

Mr. Clark was transported via ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. Mr. Wells sustained minor injuries, but was not transported. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. There were no passengers involved.

Tpr. Craig Engler investigated the collision. The Clifty Volunteer Fire Department and Todd County EMS assisted at the scene.
