Single-Vehicle Injury Collision on WKP

Central City, KY (Muhlenberg County) -- The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle, injury collision that occurred on the Western Kentucky Parkway, at approximately the 63 mile-marker, on Monday, August 26, 2013, at 7:10 a.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Glenda Wedding, 49 of Lewisport, KY, was operating a 2009 Nissan Altima westbound on the parkway. It appears that she became distracted while talking on her phone and searching through her purse. The vehicle exited the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.
Ms. Wedding, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported via ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. There were no passengers involved.
Tpr. Craig Engler investigated the collision. Tpr. Jerrod Hearld, the Central City Fire Department, and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
