Two-Vehicle, Injury Collision on KY 630

Manitou, KY (Hopkins County) -- The Kentucky State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury collision that occurred at the intersection of KY 630 (Manitou Road) and Beeny Lane, approximately two miles north of Manitou, on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at 10:45 a.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Thomas E. Berry, 62 of Central City, KY, was operating a 2006 Dodge Caravan northbound on KY 630. Nancy M. Burnett, 60 of Dixon, KY, was operating a 2003 Toyota Highlander southbound on KY 630. As both vehicles approached the intersection, Mr. Berry attempted to turn left in front of Ms. Burnett. The vehicles collided in the southbound lane.
Both drivers were transported via ambulance to Baptist Health Madisonville for treatment. Mr. Berry was not wearing a seatbelt. Ms. Burnett was wearing a seatbelt. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
Trooper First Class John Komar investigated the collision. The Manitou Volunteer Fire Department and Medical Center Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
